What's a realistic way to get back into exercise after a long break?

Solid plan. Two tweaks that helped me after a long layoff were keeping every run at nasal-breathing RPE 3–4 with a metronome to hold a quick light cadence, and setting the treadmill at 0.5–1% without touching the rails. Add seated calf raises for the soleus and tib raises (2 slow sets of 10–15), then end with a 5-minute walk-down plus a few ankle rocks and a short couch stretch to keep knees and shins calm. I also slot a step-back week every 3–4 weeks where I hold or drop total jogging time by about 20–30% to absorb the work and avoid the quiet creep of fatigue.
How do I fix my noisy blender that's shaking too much

Also check the rubber gasket/O-ring under the blade assembly - if it’s flattened doubled up & or cracked, the jar can wobble and howl; replacements are a few bucks. Make sure the jar fully locks into the base and that the base’s rubber feet or suction cups are intact; parking it on a damp towel or heavy cutting board can tame counter resonance. Unplug it and gently spin the blade hub by hand; if there’s play or gritty roughness, the bearing in the blade assembly is failing, and swapping that assembly (or the jar bottom) is usually the cheapest cure.

+1 to the broken-record; using “we” and “house policy” language helps it land: “We have a no-loans policy at home - nothing personal,” same words same tone, every time. For parking, pair the chat with a clear visual marker and a short written reminder once; after that, route it through management so it’s procedural, not personal which, yeah one extra trick: keep a tiny “giveaway” stash (salt, tape, batteries) you’re fine gifting once - requests taper when it’s not a borrow-and-return dynamic.
Why is my blender making a weird grinding noise and how can I fix it

That grinding especially with water and usually means a failing blade-assembly bearing or a worn drive coupler rather than residue. Unplug it and spin the blade hub and the base coupler by hand; if either feels gritty, wobbly, or the coupler shows missing teeth or black dust, that’s the source. Replacing the blade assembly (or jar) or the coupler is cheap and far easier than opening the motor, and avoid long dry runs while testing so you don’t finish off a slipping coupler.
Meal prep for one without eating the same thing all week?

Asked and answered a thousand times. Batch neutral bases, freeze half the portions same day, store sauces and crunch separate, undercook veg.
Use sturdy produce and microwave-safe containers with vented lids. Keep shelf-stable add-ins at work. That's it; moving on.
