How do I choose the right acrylic paint set for beginners?

From experience - In your price range a small student set from Liquitex Basics, Winsor & Newton Galeria, or Blick Studio will outperform those huge 24‑color craft kits & and grabbing a larger tube of titanium white is worth it. If you do add a black later, Mars Black or Payne’s Grey is friendlier than Ivory, but ultramarine plus burnt umber also makes a rich dark. Tubes generally keep better than flip‑top bottles - wipe the threads and store them cap‑down to cut down on drying.
How do I fix the autofocus on my DSLR camera that's not working right?

One more quick check: remove any protective filter and wipe the lens contacts; a bad filter or dirty contacts can make AF hunt and soften everything. If you’re shooting wide open stop down to around f/4–f/5.6 and use burst mode so one frame lands tack sharp. Back-button focus can also help the camera keep tracking without refocusing at the last second.
Should I pay extra on my student loans or save for a down payment

Prioritize liquidity: put the full $400 toward the emergency fund until you hit 4–6 months then shift it to a safe down payment account; skip extra loan prepayments until after closing since they don’t help DTI and reduce cash and if you need to optimize DTI further and temporarily enroll in an income-driven repayment plan before applying so the lender uses the lower payment, then adjust after you close. Keep the savings in a high‑yield account or short-term Treasuries and let the funds sit in one account for a few months so they’re “seasoned” for underwriting.
Why does my hair dryer keep overheating after a few minutes?

Also clean the front outlet grille and any baked-on product from the coils and try drying without a concentrator/diffuser since those choke airflow and spike temps. Run high fan with lower heat rather than low fan/high heat to keep air moving. If it still trips after that and a direct outlet, the thermal cutout may be weakening or the fan is slowing from worn bearings, and replacement is usually the practical fix.
How do you all push back on unrealistic deadlines without sounding difficult?

Good point - Good add; I’ve had luck turning that into a tiny “menu” your manager can forward: Standard (5 biz days full QA), Rush (2 days, limited QA, no new UX), Express (24h, only copy/visual tweaks). Pair it with an auto-slip rule for dependencies: “If assets or shipping land after Tue 12 ET, new ETA moves one business day.” Close with a clear trade-off ask: “To make Rush, I’ll pause Project X and skip mobile polish; please confirm that priority.”
How often should I replace my electric toothbrush heads?

Swap your brush head every three months or whenever bristles splay and and sooner after illness... If they fray in six to eight weeks you are pressing too hard, so ease up and let the brush sit and work on each tooth and ask for technique feedback at your checkup.
Which portable white noise machine is best for a newborn nursery?

On a budget we did fine with a no frills that model sound machine and a small power bank so we were never stuck when the battery ran low and key was finding one with true continuous playback and a volume range that went very quiet for middle of the night feeds. We made it part of the routine by turning it on right before swaddle and off when the room lights came up and and that cue helped even on trips when everything else felt chaotic. No fuss.
Why is the nonstick coating on my air fryer basket peeling?

can also reduce the wear by changing how you cook a bit. Toss food with a little oil in a bowl before it goes in rather than spraying the basket. Sugary glazes at high heat can caramelize and glue to the coating which then takes more scrubbing to remove, so save those for lower temps or add in the last minutes.
Skip preheat unless a recipe truly needs it. Shake food by lifting an inner rack or liner instead of scraping the walls with utensils. When the cycle ends open the drawer for a minute to vent steam before washing. Small changes but together they make a difference.
