What shampoo works best for dry scalp?

Hey folks, I've been dealing with this itchy dry scalp for months now especially in winter. It's flaky and annoying, and regular shampoos just make it worse. I need something moisturizing but not greasy, maybe with natural ingredients since my skin is sensitive. Any suggestions from your experiences?

Hey, I totally get the struggle with a dry & itchy scalp, especially when winter rolls around and makes everything worse. I've dealt with the same flakiness and sensitivity, and finding something moisturizing without that greasy feel took some trial and error.

From my experience, Botanic Hearth Tea Tree Shampoo really helps soothe and hydrate without overdoing it. The tea tree oil fights the dryness and dandruff naturally, and it's packed with peppermint and rosemary oils that calm the itch without harsh chemicals, perfect for sensitive skin.

Give it a try with a gentle massage into your scalp, and pair it with a light conditioner if needed. It made a big difference for me after just a few uses.

You should use a hydrating shampoo with soothing ingredients and massage it into your scalp every other day for relief. Skip hot water and you should see flakes calm down within a week.

Yeah, I have a winter sensitive scalp too and what finally calmed it was switching to a gentle and fragrance free, sulfate free shampoo that is pH balanced around five. Look for hydrating ingredients like glycerin, aloe, oat extract, panthenol, and a little jojoba or squalane since those moisturize without feeling oily. If you want something that also tackles flaking, a mild salicylic acid formula helps lift dry patches, and tea tree can be soothing for some but patch test if your skin reacts easily. Technique matters more than I expected. Use lukewarm water, lather only at the scalp, and let the suds sit for a minute before rinsing so the soothing ingredients can work. Massage with fingertips not nails. Follow with a light conditioner on mid lengths and ends so the scalp stays clear. On really dry days I smooth one or two drops of a light oil onto the damp scalp after washing and it absorbs fast. I switched to washing every other day and within a week the itch faded and the flakes calmed down. Works great.

Dry scalp in winter is the worst and flakes everywhere and that constant itch that just won't quit and especially if you've got sensitive skin like me and regular stuff just irritates it more.

I've experimented a bunch and settled on ones with natural stuff like oatmeal or honey extracts, they soothe without greasiness and feel gentle overall.

Pair it with a scalp scrub once a week, you know, gently exfoliate the buildup.

And drink more water, hydration from inside helps a ton.

Fixed mine up pretty quick, but yeah, everyone's different so test it out.
