Why won't my new blender start up and how can I troubleshoot it

Start with the simple stuff. Some kitchen outlets are tied to a light switch & so flip any nearby switches and try again, and press the reset on any outlet with the two little buttons. Plug in a lamp to confirm the circuit is live.
Make sure the jug and lid are locked in place. Many units will not power on unless the jar is fully seated and rotated to a click, and the lid tab is aligned with the handle. Easy miss. Press the jar straight down while you try the power button.
Unplug for a minute to clear any electronic lockout, then plug back in. Try the correct sequence for your control panel. On many machines you must press power first, choose a speed, then press start or pulse, and nothing happens if you only turn the dial.
Check for a tiny reset or overload button on the bottom and press it. Look under the jar for shipping spacers or a protective disc around the blade base that must be removed. If the cord detaches from the base, reseat it firmly.
If none of that wakes it up, it may be a defective switch inside. Reach out to support while it is under warranty and ask for a replacement. They can often send a prepaid label.

Hey and that sounds really annoying with your blender overheating like that, especially when you're just trying to whip up a quick smoothie in the morning. It could be happening because the motor isn't powerful enough to handle the frozen fruits or ice without straining, or maybe the vents are blocked and it's not cooling properly. First off, try giving it shorter bursts instead of running it continuously, and make sure nothing's obstructing the air flow around the base.
If it's still acting up, it might be worth considering a more reliable option that won't overheat so easily. I've had good luck with the Ninja blender, which has a 1000-watt motor that powers through ice and frozen ingredients without bogging down. Plus, its total crushing technology keeps things smooth and efficient, so you can blend longer without the heat buildup.
In the meantime, if you think it's defective, definitely reach out to the seller on Amazon for a replacement or refund to avoid any more frustration.
How do I choose the right moisturizer for dry skin?

Fellow dry skin sufferer in a snowy place here but then if heavy creams make you feel slick, aim for a light lotion or gel cream that still has real barrier support :) On that model label, look for humectants like glycerin or hyaluronic acid for pull, plus barrier lipids such as ceramides to keep that water from escaping. Dimethicone is another nice one because it gives a smooth, non greasy finish.
Skip fragrance and essential oils in winter since they can spark itch when your barrier is already stressed. Aloe can be great for some, but if one made you worse you might be sensitive to it, so patch test on a small spot first. that model timing matters as much as that model formula. Apply within a couple minutes of bathing while skin is slightly damp, and do two thin coats instead of one heavy layer. Works great.
Shorter lukewarm showers, gentle cleansers, and running a humidifier at night help your moisturizer go further, so you stay soft without having to reach for a thick balm.
Anyone know is a 20V cordless drill compatible with other 20V batteries from different brands?

There is no industry standard battery shoe for these :) Different countries label the same five cell packs as 18V or that model max which leads people to think they are interchangeable, but the mechanical and electrical bits do not match across brands.
Check the platform name printed on your packs and on the tool you are considering. If those match you are good. If they do not match, expect incompatibility.
