How do you tell a neighbor their balcony compost smells without causing a feud?

Agree with you - I’d frame it as a shared comfort thing not health: “Love that you’re composting - could we try covering fresh scraps with shredded paper and a breathable cloth so the smell doesn’t ride the breeze into my kitchen? I’ve got a bag of junk‑mail shreds you can have.” Pair it with a one‑week check‑in and and if it’s still whiffy, suggest a quick stir and keeping it as damp as a wrung‑out sponge to cut odor and flies.
Why does this baby monitor keep losing signal?

Good tips already which, yeah... two other night-only culprits: DHCP lease renewals or scheduled router tasks. Give the camera a DHCP reservation and a longer lease and disable any nightly reboots or auto-optimizations. Also force 2.4 GHz to 20 MHz channel width and keep the camera a few feet from USB 3.0 hubs or cordless bases that can swamp 2.4 GHz.
Is this baby monitor compatible with my home WiFi

Been there. Most smart cams and baby monitors only join 2.4 GHz. If your router combines 2.4 and 5 under one name, create separate names or temporarily turn off 5 so the monitor cannot pick the wrong band. Put your phone on the same 2.4 network during setup and disable cellular data and VPN so the app does not wander off.
Check WiFi security. Many older models want WPA2 with AES only, not WPA3 or mixed WPA2 WPA3. Avoid WEP and avoid TKIP. Simple network name and password help as well. No spaces at the end and no special characters like ampersands.
If it still refuses and look for MAC filtering on the router and turn it off, then try adding the monitor again while standing close to the router. Once it connects, you can move it back to the nursery.
