How do beginners build cardio without wrecking their joints?

Swimming is great but you can build cardio gently with walking and cycling. Try 30 minutes: 5 min easy warm-up, then 8 rounds of 2 min easy and 1 min moderate where you can still talk, finish with 5 min easy; do this 3–5 days a week and add one round each week. On the bike, set the saddle so your knee stays slightly bent at the bottom and spin an easy gear around 80–90 rpm to protect your knees; for walking, choose flat, softer paths and keep it in the talk-test zone.
What's the best lens for portrait photography on my DSLR camera?

On a tight budget the sweet spot for portraits is a small fast prime... If your DSLR has a crop sensor, a 35 mm f1.8 or 50 mm f1.8 will give you clean sharp faces and strong background blur without weighing you down. On full frame, 50 or 85 at f1.8 does the same job and feels natural for portraits.
When you shop,, match the mount exactly and confirm that autofocus works with your specific body, and check weight and minimum focus distance so you can frame tightly indoors. Skim sample photos to see how the blur looks and whether the lens stays sharp near wide open.
For quick wins, put your subject close to you and well away from the background, shoot at f1.8 to f2, and focus on the near eye. Works great.

Start small and make it automatic. Do 20 minutes of bodyweight strength on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Pick five moves that cover everything: squat to a chair, pushups on a counter, hip hinge with a backpack, row with a sturdy bag, and a 20 second plank. Do 2 sets of 8 to 10 reps at an easy pace, rest a minute, and stop while you feel like you could do more. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, walk 25 to 30 minutes at a pace that lets you talk in short sentences. Sunday is 15 minutes of mobility and light stretching.
Set alarms for start times and keep shoes visible by the desk. If weather or travel wrecks a walk, do marching in place for 10 minutes and stairs for 10 minutes. Each week add a rep per set or 2 minutes to the walk. After four weeks, make the pushups a little lower, add a third set to one lift, and keep walks under 45 minutes. Get up every hour at work for a 2 minute walk to stack easy wins.

Think zone 2 like good exposure, not blown highlights. Warm up 5 minutes, then 20 minutes where you could chat, then cool down 5 and call it a clean frame. On the bike aim for a smooth spin around 80 to 90 rpm with the seat high enough that your knee stays slightly bent at the bottom. Walk on the softest path in the park and let the talk test be your metronome. If your heart rate monitor argues with you, trust breath and conversation over the gadget.
Why is my coffee maker leaking water everywhere?

I had a bottom leak that turned out to be a loose hose inside. Unplug it & dump any water, then flip it over and remove the base screws which, yeah found it by tipping it on its side.
There are usually two small silicone hoses going to the heating block and one had worked itself loose from heat cycles, so water was running straight to the drip tray area and out the feet. I pushed the hose fully back onto the barb and snugged the clamp, then checked the rubber seal where the tank feeds the machine and the little valve under the brew basket. After reassembling, no more puddle. If you are not comfortable opening it, at least press around the tank outlet seal with a fingertip and see if it weeps when the tank is installed. That will point you to an external seal instead of an internal line.

I noticed thumb grip caps were the main problem not the case. With caps on, the inner flap started pushing and I could feel resistance closing the lid, without caps it shut smooth. Screen protectors add a hair of thickness too, so keep the pocket light and flat and do the press test before tossing it in a backpack.
