From experience - Solid advice above. I’d also put the cam on a dedicated 2.4 GHz only SSID (no band steering) use WPA2 with PMF/802.11w off, and give it a DHCP reservation so lease renewals don’t drop it at night. If your router has 802.11k/v/r, mesh assist, or smart roaming/optimize features, disable them on that SSID, and consider a small UPS so tiny power blips don’t reboot the camera.
To add to that - For sunny park reading under $150 the Kindle Paperwhite (current gen, ad-supported) is the sweet spot: 6.8-inch glare-free e‑ink, bright front light, IPX8 waterproofing, long battery, and excellent font controls. If you want something lighter and cheaper, the 2022 Kindle is portable with the same 300 ppi sharpness, a smaller screen and less powerful lighting. Tip: pair it with a simple cover and a matte screen protector to cut fingerprints and protect from another drop.
