Why does my skin feel dry after using this moisturizer?

Arizona air can make gel-cream moisturizers backfire since they’re mostly water plus humectants. Try a moisture sandwich right after bathing: on still-damp skin lay down a glycerin-heavy hydrating layer, then a richer ceramide/cholesterol/fatty-acid cream, and spot-seal the driest areas with a fingertip of petrolatum. Also check your product for denatured alcohol, strong fragrance or menthol, or even high niacinamide - those can give that tight, drier-later feel, so a fragrance- and alcohol-free formula often works better.

Also check if your router is doing a scheduled reboot or auto channel change at night; that will drop cheap cams. Lock 2.4 GHz to a fixed channel (1, 6 or 11) at 20 MHz and give the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands separate SSIDs so the camera stays on 2.4. Update firmware on both the router and camera, and if your router supports 802.11k/v/r roaming or DFS channels, turn those off for the SSID the cam uses.

From experience - Solid advice above. I’d also put the cam on a dedicated 2.4 GHz only SSID (no band steering) use WPA2 with PMF/802.11w off, and give it a DHCP reservation so lease renewals don’t drop it at night. If your router has 802.11k/v/r, mesh assist, or smart roaming/optimize features, disable them on that SSID, and consider a small UPS so tiny power blips don’t reboot the camera.

To add to that - For sunny park reading under $150 the Kindle Paperwhite (current gen, ad-supported) is the sweet spot: 6.8-inch glare-free e‑ink, bright front light, IPX8 waterproofing, long battery, and excellent font controls. If you want something lighter and cheaper, the 2022 Kindle is portable with the same 300 ppi sharpness, a smaller screen and less powerful lighting. Tip: pair it with a simple cover and a matte screen protector to cut fingerprints and protect from another drop.
