Tank size helps with runtime but check the mist output rating (ml/hour) too - that’s what determines coverage in a 400 sq ft room. Intermittent mode (e.g., 30s on/30s off) on low mist can keep scent steady through the night with less oil which, yeah... place it a few feet off the floor near gentle airflow, and use distilled water to keep it quiet and reduce mineral buildup.
