Solid plan. To keep intensity right do the walks at nose-breathing pace & add a 3–4 second lowering on squats and push-ups so light loads still challenge you. For stair tolerance, practice 1–2 flights with slow, controlled descents and use the handrail; add a flight only when your breathing settles within a minute at the top. Anchor the hourly reset to a cue like after each meeting or bathroom break so it happens.

Co-signing the script and I’ve found it works even better if you set the limit at the hello: “I’ve got five minutes while the ice cream melts,” so the short chat is expected. When a natural pause hits give a warm callback and close: “Loved hearing about your trip - let’s catch up Saturday,” then step inside and shut the door. One simple, consistent reason repeated every time teaches the rhythm without feeling cold.

Nighttime drops usually mean interference, so raise and reposition the camera and parent unit away from metal, mirrors, and other electronics... If it uses WiFi pick a quieter channel or switch to 5 GHz and turn off power saving on the parent unit, and use an outlet that stays on.
