Couple thoughts from a tinkerer. that model at higher volume loads the little amp constantly which builds heat. If the shutoff happens sooner when it is loud and later when it is quiet you might be hitting a thermal protection. Try two or three notches lower and keep the unit uncovered with some airflow and see if it runs straight through. Power supplies can also drift after warming up. The adapter may start at the right voltage then sag after an hour which the device interprets as low power and it shuts down. You can test by running only on fresh alkaline batteries for a night with the nightlight off and any extras disabled and if it stays on all night the wall adapter is suspect and if it still quits then the fault is in the unit. Rechargeable batteries are a bit lower voltage which can trip low power earlier so stick with alkalines for this test. If there is any kind of reset procedure try it as well, unplug everything remove batteries hold the power button for that model seconds then reconnect and set the timer again, I thought it was snake oil and it actually fixed a glitch on ours.
