Why is my new coffee maker leaking water?

I had a new machine do this and it turned out not to be a crack. First figure out where the water starts. Set it on a dry towel and run a plain water cycle so you can spot the first damp area. If it gets wet near the front while it is brewing and the basket can be backing up because the carafe lid is not pushing the drip stop open. Seat the carafe firmly and make sure the lid is fully closed. Check that the paper filter is tucked in and not folded over the rim and and if you grind your own beans go a touch coarser to prevent pooling in the basket. Total mess.
If the damp spot shows up at the back or along the counter behind it,, that can be steam and condensation sneaking past a lid that is not aligned. Reseat the reservoir and close the top firmly, then try again. Make sure the machine is level and the reservoir is fully clicked in so water does not bypass a gasket.
If the towel stays dry during the brew but you find a puddle under the base afterward,, that points to an internal hose or seal that is not tight. Since it is new, do not take it apart. Grab a quick video of the leak and reach out for an exchange or warranty service. One more thing that sometimes helps a minor seal is running two or three hot water cycles without coffee to let the gaskets warm and settle. If it still leaks after that, return it while you can.

School blasts, daycare billing, and a flood of reminders make zero a joke. I turned on VIP for the actual humans and put a 8 pm ten minute triage on the calendar and everything else waits. One more tip, unsubscribe from anything you do not open twice in a row because you will never read it.
