What’s a simple budget setup that actually sticks for dual-income households

Co-signing the sheet and auto transfers: open one joint household checking for rent utilities, and groceries, and both feed it on each payday either 50/50 or proportional to income. Keep the sheet to four lines - bills, groceries, sinking fund for irregulars, and a small cushion - and do a 10-minute weekly reconcile plus a quick monthly adjust. Biggest pitfalls I’ve seen are splitting every tiny purchase instead of using the joint card, and forgetting annual bills; the dedicated card, sinking fund, and a one-paycheck-ahead buffer solve both.
Is this SD card fast enough for 4K video on a mirrorless camera?

Think in terms of sustained write rather than the big burst number on the label.
For 4K 30 and many 4K 60 profiles your target is V30 with the U3 symbol which means the card can hold 30 MB/s continuously.
That covers most long GOP codecs up to about 150 Mb/s.
If your camera has an all I or high bitrate log mode that pushes past that range aim for V60 to give yourself headroom.
I once chased the biggest number on the box and kept getting drops on long takes and it drove me nuts.

Warm humid weather is rough on membranes. They rely on a gradient to move vapor and in sticky air that gradient is tiny so sweat piles up. You end up with damp socks even on dry miles and once any water sneaks in it lingers. Mesh uppers let both liquid water and vapor escape faster, so your feet feel cooler between crossings. Hot soup for your feet.
For shallow splashes a light mid will keep you dry if you avoid overtopping. If you prioritize comfort between crossings, a non waterproof mid with open mesh and a modest toe cap is usually the happier choice. Thin merino or synthetic socks, carry a spare pair, loosen laces on climbs, and pull insoles at breaks. A light gaiter keeps grit out while things dry. Staying under two pounds is easy with that style.
