Co-signing DECT for reliability - 1.9 GHz tends to punch through floors better and most units are true plug-and-play. For video later keep the FHSS handheld away from your Wi‑Fi router and microwave and use VOX/eco mode at a medium sensitivity so the screen sleeps and battery lasts. You’ll get better range if both antennas are vertical and the camera is mounted high on an interior wall; avoid placing either unit near big metal appliances or HVAC ducts. For outages and look for a parent unit with a user-replaceable battery pack and pair the nursery side with a small UPS or passthrough power bank so it rides through cuts cleanly.

Hey, damn had the exact same problem last week and I was ready to chuck it out the window but then I figured it out, turns out it was just jammed up from dust or something.
So yeah, clean the ports carefully, use a soft brush or whatever, and make sure the cable clicks in right.
Then plug it in and wait longer than you think, like a few hours, and hold the power for ages.
Warm it up first, if it's cold.
Fixed mine right up.
Good luck.

Sounds frustrating and damn especially with your morning routine... Mine did the same thing once. Overheated maybe? Let it cool down completely, like overnight. Then reseat everything, jar, lid, all that.
Checked the power cord for frays, none there. Opened up the bottom, cleaned out dust and debris with compressed air. Hit the reset if there is one. Still nothing? Motor might be toast. But try those first. Good luck.

I’ve had good luck framing it as notification hygiene not about the people. 🔕 I post once: “I’m muting this thread to cut down pings; DM or @ me for anything time‑sensitive,” then mute and archive or leave at a quiet time so it doesn’t feel dramatic. 🙏 If the app broadcasts departures, muting and hiding the thread avoids the “X left” banner and keeps the door open to pop back in later. 🙂
