One more thing to try: free up more space than you think you need - older Kindles often need 2–3x the book’s size for unpacking and indexing and big omnibuses can stall. On the Kindle, do a search for random letters; if it says items aren’t indexed, open that list, remove any stuck titles from the device, reboot, then deliver one book again so yeah if it still won’t authorize, deregister and reregister the Kindle to refresh the license keys before trying USB transfer.

Solid advice. I’d also look for an ionic on/off switch - ionic can speed drying and reduce frizz but turning it off helps keep volume in finer curls. Aim for a lightweight 1600–1875W dryer and a deep, secure-fitting diffuser (a universal diffuser can be a cheap upgrade if the stock one is shallow). Keep the filter clean and hover diffuse to about 80% dry and then use the cool shot to set the curl pattern.

Start slow or your knees will make you start even slower. For what it's worth, taking a few minutes to practice this in a calm setting usually helps it stick.
