Why is my coffee maker not brewing properly?

I had one slow to a crawl and it turned out to be a simple seal issue. lid gasket and the groove it sits in had a film on them and so steam and water were escaping instead of going through the grounds. A good scrub of the lid & the gasket, and the basket rim with warm soapy water brought the flow back and the brew tasted normal again.
Also make sure the carafe is pushing the switch under the basket. If the pot is slightly off center, the valve stays closed and you get drips or nothing at all. Keep the fill below the max line, use a paper filter that fits without folding, and avoid very fine grinds that can choke the basket.
If it starts a cycle then quits, refill the tank and give the side a few firm taps to dislodge an air bubble in the intake tube, then run a water only cycle. If the warming plate stays cold and there is no sound from the boiler, that points to a failed heater or thermal fuse, which is usually not worth chasing on an older unit.
Should I tell my boss I'm job hunting or keep it quiet?

Keep it quiet until you have a firm offer. Telling your boss early can lead to reduced responsibilities or even being pushed out sooner. If you do decide to share, time it after interviews but before references if possible. Update LinkedIn after you resign to avoid signaling. Scripts should emphasize appreciation and focus on personal growth. Lessons from reshuffles show that one exit can destabilize small teams, so prepare for that ripple effect.
