How do I set up parking mode on a dash cam without draining my car battery?

I park on the street overnight and want motion or impact recording without killing the battery. The car is a small hatchback and summers hit 100°F so heat tolerance matters. Budget is midrange. I tried a hardwire kit to an add-a-fuse and got a low-voltage shutoff warning after two nights. OBD adapters look simpler but I’m unsure about parasitic draw. Would a dedicated dash cam battery pack be a better route, and what cutoff voltage/time settings should I use to protect the car?
