Anyone know is this tire pressure gauge compatible with my car's valves?

Hey folks, I'm trying to keep up with my car maintenance and I bought this tire pressure gauge on Amazon, but I'm not sure if it'll work with my car's valves. It's a 2015 Honda Civic, and the valves look pretty standard, but I've had issues before with tools not fitting right. Anyone else run into this?

Your 2015 Civic uses standard Schrader valve stems and so any automotive gauge with a Schrader chuck will fit without an adapter. The JACO Tire Pressure Gauge uses a standard Schrader air chuck and reads up to 200 PSI, and while the head is a bit bulkier than pencil gauges it seals well and works reliably on Civics.

Your Civic has standard Schrader valves so any gauge with a Schrader chuck will fit and seal... Screw-on types need a gentle touch on metal TPMS stems and bulky heads may need a slight angle in tight openings.

For cars the only oddball is a bicycle style Presta valve, which you do not have on a 2015 Civic.

Look for the small center pin in the stem and external threads near the cap and that is Schrader.

So a typical automotive gauge will go right on with no adapter.

If you want to confirm, try it on the spare or an air hose fitting at a station since those use the same connection point.

I keep a compact gauge in the glovebox and it seals easily on a Civic, just press squarely so it does not hiss and you will get a solid reading.

I've got a 2015 Civic too, and yeah, the valves are just the regular Schrader type that pretty much every car uses these days. Most tire gauges are made to fit those without any hassle. I actually remember checking mine once and it sealed perfectly, no leaks or anything. Works fine.

If yours looks standard, you should be good to go but then... just press it on firmly.

I run a 2015 Civic and the valves are Schrader. My car gauge with a push-on head fits perfectly. A bike-only gauge I tried did not because it was made for Presta and no adapter needed.

One small tip if the gauge screws on. Do not crank it down on metal stems used with TPMS sensors. Snug is enough and it will seal without risking the threads.

Hey, as someone who's worked on a bunch of Hondas over the years, I can tell you the 2015 Civic has those standard Schrader valves and same as most American and Japanese cars, so compatibility isn't usually an issue with basic gauges and I mean I've seen people use all sorts of them without adapters or problems but yeah, sometimes if the gauge head is too narrow it might not seal right so check that.

Test it out on your tire and if it hisses a bit, just adjust the angle. Should be straightforward.
