Why is my new blender making a weird grinding noise?

Also check for black rubber dust around the motor base - that’s a telltale the drive coupler is slipping or chewing itself up. With it unplugged turn the blade hub by hand; it should spin smoothly with no gritty feel or side‑to‑side wiggle, and any roughness means the bearing is on its way out. Make sure the jar base ring is snug but not over‑tightened and the blade plate sits flat, since a slight warp can let the tips kiss the jar and cause that grinding.

Great tips already. One more easy check: unplug it remove the jar & and see if the blade assembly spins smoothly by hand with no side play or gritty feel; wobble, grinding, or any brown/greasy seepage under the blade means the bearing is shot and the whole blade unit is usually a cheap swap. Also inspect the rubber drive coupling on the base - if it’s rounded, cracked, or loose it’ll cause rattling and vibration and is another inexpensive DIY replacement. If the blades look even slightly bent from ice, don’t try to bend them back; replace the assembly.
How can I stabilize my action camera during bike rides?

Mount low on your helmet so your neck smooths the bumps and keep the arms short and snug with a thin pad and a tether, and if you go on-bike put it by the stem, angle past the bars, and lock down every strap and cable.
Ride relaxed with bent elbows and let your legs take the hits, then use stabilization with horizon leveling, higher frame rate, fast shutter and low ISO, and shoot higher resolution to crop and stabilize in post, easing off heavy features in low light.
