Adding one thing - Agree and one tweak that made it feel fair for us was contributing to the joint in proportion to take-home and automating it each payday; with a one-month buffer & bills auto-pay and mismatched cycles stop mattering. We keep three buckets in the joint (Bills, Groceries, Irregulars) using bank sub-accounts and set a weekly grocery cap; everything else stays personal by rule. Biggest pitfall was reimbursements from personal cards - making the joint debit the only card for shared buys eliminated the tracking headaches.

One more thought - When you do buy a shampoo look for “color-safe” and sulfate-free with gentler surfactants like cocamidopropyl betaine or glucosides, plus slip-giving ingredients such as cetyl/stearyl alcohol and behentrimonium chloride; skip harsh SLS/SLES which, yeah... if you need to wash daily, dilute the shampoo in your palm and only scrub the scalp, then use a richer conditioner and add a small dose of hydrolyzed protein once a week for strength. Rinse with lukewarm water and finish with a leave-in and heat protectant to lock in softness.

Good call on FHSS. One more tip: do a quick “worst case” test with the microwave running - 2.4 GHz dropouts during reheats are normal so you’ll know what to expect. Mount the camera higher in a corner, 6–8 feet from the crib, to improve night vision and reduce IR glare, and keep the parent unit off soft surfaces with VOX and lower brightness to stretch battery and if your floors have foil-backed insulation or metal lath, parking the parent unit near the stairwell often gives a cleaner path between floors.

For a room that size, aim for an ultrasonic unit with a tank around 600 to that model ml and adjustable mist. On low or medium it will run through the night without refilling, and the larger reservoir keeps the output steadier so scent reaches the corners. Look for a timer with at least 2, 4, 8 hour presets and auto shutoff. Placement matters too and put it a couple of feet off the floor and as central as you can without blocking airflow. Quiet enough for sleep when the fan is smooth and there are no button beeps. Works great.
