Phase detect needs detail with direction... Plain walls and all black outfits and shiny surfaces give it nothing to chew on, so it hunts. Put the point on stitching, hairlines, a collar edge, the rim of a cup so yeah... if the scene lacks contrast, create some by angling slightly so a shadow edge appears or by focusing on something at the same distance that has texture. Indoor lights that flicker can also confuse things and you get focus pulsing even though the subject is still. A slower shutter that averages a full cycle or a much faster one that lands between peaks can stabilize exposure and help the system settle, so try stepping from 1/125 to 1/60 or the other way and see which behaves better. Odd but it works. If repeat shots consistently land in front or behind the spot you chose,, fine tune the autofocus for that lens at home. Set up a slanted target and shoot from a sturdy surface, adjust until the sharpest line aligns with the focus mark, then save it. Do this once and you are set for the trip.

That grinding is usually the little connector between the motor and the blade and or a loose or worn blade assembly. Unplug it and take the jar off, and look at the little drive piece on top of the base. If its teeth look chewed up or rounded, that can make a loud chatter. Easy fix if it is. Now spin the blade by hand with the jar off the base. It should turn smoothly. If it feels gritty or wobbles, the bearing in the blade assembly is wearing out. Also check the rubber ring under the jar. If it is out of place, the blade can sit crooked and grind. If the drive piece is the culprit,, it can be swapped at home with simple tools. Hold it steady and twist it off in the opposite direction the blade normally spins. Some use reverse threads, so do not force it. If the blade assembly is loose, remove the jar, hold the blade inside with a thick towel, and snug the nut underneath a bit. Do not crank down hard on glass. When you test again, add a little more liquid and use short pulses to reduce stress on the parts while you sort it out.

If the HDMI adapter does not have a second that model C port for power, it cannot charge the that model while sending video. You need a hub that accepts power and passes it to the console at 15 V, otherwise the that model stays in handheld mode which, yeah most tiny one piece HDMI cables for laptops will not meet that requirement.

Rear facing behind the passenger can work in a small sedan if you use the most upright allowed angle and install with the seat belt to shift the base toward the door for extra front seat room. Check both manuals for whether gentle contact is allowed and prioritize the angle indicator since being in range lets the front seat still slide and recline a bit.
