Try a quick water-only test: if it still grinds with the jar half full of water, it’s likely mechanical (bearing or coupler); if it quiets down and only screams when empty, that’s mostly cavitation. Make sure the jar fully seats on the base splines too, since a jar riding high or a cracked retaining ring can make the coupler chatter.
