How do I choose a hair dryer that's gentle on curly hair?

Curly head here and what mattered most for me was control not power :) Hotel dryers cooked my ends because they only had high heat and one speed, so when I switched to something with at least three heat levels and a low flow setting everything changed. Ionic plus a ceramic coil made a difference in how smooth my that model felt and it shortened drying time without that crispy feel. Make sure the cool button is easy to press because I pulse it throughout to set sections and it stops halo frizz.
I test the airflow on my wrist and along my cheek before first use, if it stings it is too aggressive. Keep the dryer a little farther away and hover around your curls without raking through them, then stop when your that model is still a touch damp and let it rest and it will keep its shape better. If price is a worry aim for simple builds that skip flashy features and prioritize low heat options and a light body, you will get great results without paying salon money. Works great.
How can I stabilize my action camera during bike rides?

Think about it like vibration control from the ground up. Set your suspension sag slow rebound a touch if the bike chatters and and drop a little tire pressure for rough sections. Make sure the headset is snug and pivots are free of play and then zip tie hoses and housing so they cannot slap. Slip thin foam or silicone between every hard mount surface so there is no plastic on plastic, even a cut piece of inner tube works. Tighten everything, ride a minute, then retighten once more because things settle and a small turn can make a big difference.
On the camera side use the strongest stabilization and horizon lock that still looks natural, bump the frame rate, and keep ISO low with a faster shutter so the stabilizer has clean data to work with. Lock exposure if your trail goes in and out of shade to avoid brightness pumping. Shoot higher resolution than you need so you can crop after a post pass if the camera recorded gyro. Huge help.
If bars are your only option, mount close to the stem with the shortest possible stack and aim a bit further down trail instead of showing a lot of front wheel so steering jitter is less noticeable. Do quick back to back runs on the same segment and compare on a big screen, you will see what works on your terrain right away.
Why won't my digital camera focus anymore and is it worth repairing

Used to intake repairs at a camera shop and your symptoms match two common scenarios... On a compact or superzoom and the inner focusing group gets off track or the tiny motor stalls, sometimes because of grit. On a DSLR, the phase detect module can be misaligned so viewfinder focus fails while live view focus still works. On a mirrorless, the lens itself is usually the culprit.
Easy check. Try focusing in live view if your camera has it, then try through the viewfinder. If live view nails it but the viewfinder misses, the separate focus module needs service. If both fail the same way, try a different lens if you can, or mount your lens on another body. If you only have a fixed lens, listen for grinding or clicking as it tries to focus and test at the widest zoom and in bright light. Remove the battery for a few minutes and power it on and off a few times. For sticky barrels, a very light tap around the lens ring while it is trying to extend can sometimes free it, but do not force anything.
For costs, what I saw most often was a minimum bench fee for an estimate, then focus or lens unit replacements that landed in the low hundreds and turnaround of two to four weeks depending on parts. If your camera is entry level and a few years old, that spend rarely makes sense. If it is a better model or you have little to spend and want to keep it, ask a local shop for an estimate cap and timeline. For the vacation, manual focus or zone focus can get you usable shots in good light, and your phone can fill in for the rest. Seen it a lot.
Why is the nonstick coating on my air fryer basket peeling?

I do repairs for small appliances and I see this a lot around month six to twelve. The good news is your habits are solid which yeah the bad news is once an edge lifts it rarely stops by itself.
Cheapest fix that has helped my customers is to stop direct contact. Use the crisper plate if you have one for everything and put a perforated parchment or silicone liner on top of that. You can fold a strip of parchment over the rim during cooks when you shake food to keep the rim from getting scuffed. If the maker sells individual baskets or trays they are often reasonably priced so it is worth a quick ask. In the meantime keep cooks under 400 and don't soak. It buys time.
