Which e-reader is best for someone with poor eyesight and does it have adjustable font sizes?

At my age, 64 reading has become a bit of a challenge with my eyesight not being what it used to be. I love books, but the small print in paperbacks strains my eyes after a while. My granddaughter suggested getting an e-reader from Amazon to make things easier. I've tried squinting and using reading glasses, but they slip off, and it's uncomfortable. I need something with big font options and maybe a backlight that isn't too harsh. Budget-wise, I don't want to spend more than $150, as I'm on a fixed income. Last time I tried one at the store, the screen was too glarey in sunlight, and I like reading on my porch. Has anyone my age found a good e-reader that helps with vision issues? I'd appreciate any recommendations.

Which e-reader is best for reading novels outdoors?

I've been an avid reader for years but my old e-reader finally broke after a drop. Now, I need a replacement that works well in sunlight since I love reading in the park. Budget is under $150, and it has to have a long battery life. I tried fixing the old one with tape and but the screen is cracked beyond repair. Portability is key because I travel a lot. Any recommendations from Amazon? I prefer something with adjustable font sizes for my eyes.

Anyone know what's the best way to store paperback books to prevent yellowing?

I have a collection of paperback novels from Amazon that I've been keeping on a shelf in my living room but I've noticed some are starting to yellow around the edges. The room gets some sunlight during the day and which might be the issue. I've tried moving them to a darker spot, but I want a more permanent solution without spending too much.

Which mystery novels are gripping for long flights?

I love reading mysteries to pass time on trips but I need ones that keep me hooked without being too heavy to carry. Last year, I picked up a series that was perfect for a cross-country flight, but now I'm out of ideas. My budget is around twenty dollars per book since I buy a few at once. I tried some e-books, but I prefer the feel of physical pages. Sometimes the plots are predictable, which ruins the fun. I live near an airport, so quick reads are essential. Suggestions for authors or specific titles would be great. Make sure they're available in lightweight formats.

Anyone know which e-reader is best for reading in bed without straining my eyes and does it have adjustable lighting?

Forum folks and I'm trying to get back into reading before bed but my old tablet's screen is too bright and hurts my eyes after a while. Looking for an e-reader that's easy on the eyes with some kind of built-in light that I can dim. Any recommendations on models that won't break the bank? I've been browsing Amazon but can't decide.

Hey folks my tripod isn't staying steady during photoshoots; any fixes?

Hey everyone on this photography forum, I'm having issues with my tripod. I bought it a couple months ago for my DSLR camera and it was great at first for outdoor shoots. But now, it wobbles a bit, especially on uneven ground. I've tightened all the screws, but it still doesn't hold steady. My budget was limited, so it's not a high-end one, but I need it for landscape photos. Tried using it indoors, and it's better, but outdoors is a problem. Maybe the legs are worn out? I've attempted adjusting the height and locking mechanisms repeatedly, no luck. Also, I live in a windy area, which might contribute. What have you all tried for similar problems? Any recommendations for fixes or upgrades?

Why won't this mystery novel series load on my e-reader even after multiple tries?

I recently bought a whole mystery series on Amazon for my Kindle but it's not loading properly no matter what I do. First off, my e-reader is a bit older, and I updated the software last week thinking that might help, but nope. My internet connection is fine since other books download okay, but this series just hangs. I've tried restarting the device several times and even deleted and re-downloaded the files. Budget-wise, I don't want to buy a new reader if I can avoid it. It's frustrating because I was really looking forward to binge-reading these. Are there any specific settings I should check?

How can I organize my bookshelf to prevent dust buildup and what cleaners work best?

My bookshelf is getting dusty quickly in my small apartment. I have a mix of paperbacks and hardcovers that I want to keep in good condition. Any tips on arranging them to minimize dust? Also safe cleaners for the books themselves would be helpful.

Can anyone recommend a good mystery novel series for someone who likes puzzles?

Well hello there friends! I'm 64 and just retired and so I've got all this time on my hands now. I used to love those Agatha Christie books back in the day, and I'm hunting for something similar with clever twists. Nothing too scary, mind you, just good old-fashioned whodunits.

Anyone know hey guys my e-reader keeps freezing during use, any fixes?

I've had this e-reader for about a year now and it was perfect for reading on my long commutes & but lately, it freezes up midway through chapters. I rely on it because physical books take up too much space in my bag, and I can't always access my phone's battery for reading apps. I've tried restarting it multiple times and even did a factory reset once, but the issue persists, especially with larger files. Storage is almost full, but I've deleted some books. I'm limited to Wi-Fi at home for updates since data is expensive. Any troubleshooting steps or settings I might have missed?

Why won't my e-reader sync my library books and how do I resolve it?

I've been using this e-reader for months now and it was working fine until yesterday when I tried to borrow a new mystery novel from the library app :) Suddenly and it won't sync at all. I double-checked my Wi-Fi connection, but that seems okay. Maybe it's a software glitch or something with the account? I've restarted the device twice, and even deleted and reinstalled the app, but no luck. Budget is limited, so I can't afford a replacement right now. This is frustrating because I rely on it for my bedtime reading! Any ideas on how to fix this?

Why won't my e-reader connect to Wi-Fi anymore and what steps can I take to troubleshoot it?

I've had this e-reader for a couple of years and it used to connect to my home Wi-Fi just fine for downloading new books. But recently and it keeps saying 'connection failed' no matter what I do. I've tried restarting it and forgetting the network, then adding it back, but that didn't help. My router is working because my phone connects okay, so it's got to be the DEVICE itself. We have a small apartment, so signal strength shouldn't be an issue. I even updated the software through USB, but still no luck. This is frustrating since I rely on it for my daily reading. Any suggestions on what else to try before I buy a new one?

Which mystery novel series should I start with?

Hey guys, I'm looking to get into mystery books. I've been bored with TV lately and want something exciting to read before bed. My friend suggested starting a series but there are so many out there. Any ideas on a good one for beginners? I like stories with detectives and twists.

Anyone know is the paperback of this fantasy series the same text as the hardcover and is the font readable?

I’m worried the paperback uses smaller type than the hardcover. Is it the same layout and chapters?
